Job Description Work to implement professional development and leadership development for a workforce of 900 plus individuals. Combine the traditions of an organization that is over 100 years old with new strategies for organizational effectiveness. Deliver timely training, assist with the development of training initiatives and track employees’ progress through various professional and leadership development endeavors. Create and implement initiatives that advance Extension's new strategic plan. Identify organizational gaps and collaborate with other units to support the organizational needs of Extension to fully implement ambitious goals laid out in the new plan. Develop a statewide strategy for professional development, mentoring and on-boarding. Work through a task force to address the strategic plan objectives. Coordinate with all departments on training and development for Extension Employees on campus and in counties, and curate and promote these resources. Work with professional staff, support staff, faculty and administrators both on and off-campus to meet the vision, mission and goals of a land-grant institution. Assess the training needs of employees who work within a complex, state-wide organization, to facilitate short and long-term training programs, and to integrate e-learning strategies with face-to-face training. Plan, implement and deliver training programs to employees at various levels within an intricate organization that has offices across the state. Interact with teams, groups of employees, and one-on-one with individuals. Actively support the mission, vision and goals of the EOD Office, as well as understand the land-grant mission of North Carolina’s largest public university. Work in collaboration with other units to meet the core responsibilities of this position. Foster strong collaborations with other units on campus Extension HR, CALS HR, University HR and other offices on campus, and partner on programming that benefits the broader CALS community.
