Join Elena Rogers, Area Specialized Agent, Agriculture for Food Safety in Fresh Produce on May 5 from 8am-5pm. 

This is a one day training course for growers on the Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) standardized curriculum that meets the regulatory requirements of the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule.

We encourage anyone working in the produce industry and all farmers (LARGE AND SMALL) to attend this class.

Topics covered include:

  • Introduction to Produce Safety
  • Worker Health, Hygiene, and Training
  • Soil Amendments
  • Wildlife, Domesticated Animals, and Land Use
  • Agricultural Water: Production Water + Post-harvest Water
  • Post-harvest Handling and Sanitation
  • How to Develop a Farm Food Safety Plan

WHAT IS THE PRODUCE SAFETY RULE?

This class is open to all growers and individuals in the produce industry regardless weather or not the Produce Safety Rule is mandated due to farm income or size. This training offers research-based produce safety best practices for farms of any scale.
