Description:

This Veteran's Day, plant a tree as a memorial to a veteran!

Be sure to stop by one of the following locations and pick-up your FREE Norway Spruce Seedling on November 11.

  • Jackson: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Mark Watson Park, Sylva (Constitution Square)
  • Swain: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, Swain Co. Heritage Museum 255 Main Street (Veteran's Monument on front lawn)

Norway Spruce, the fastest growing of the spruces, develops strong graceful branches that are covered with dark green needles. Ideal windbreaker and supports a variety of wildlife. They are important as winter cover for deer and small game. Song birds and fur bearers also frequent these forest types.Once your tree is big enough, it will make a great outdoor living Christmas Tree. Decorate it with lights and share the spirit of the season with your neighbors!
