If you have old pesticides that are taking up space in your barn, garage or storage shed, make plans to bring them to the FREE Pesticide Disposal Day in Yadkin County. NC Cooperative Extension in
conjunction with the NC Department of Agriculture will accept any pesticide (insecticide, fungicide, herbicide, etc.) in original containers and clearly labeled. This program is available for Yadkin and surrounding counties.
There is no charge for this service and most pesticide products will be accepted, including banned and outdated pesticides. For pesticides with unreadable or missing labels, contact the Cooperative Extension office at (336) 849-7908 for instructions. Participants are asked to save any portion of the label to help identify the material to be disposed of. Unknown materials cannot be accepted. Paints and other hazardous waste will not be accepted.
This non-regulatory and cost-free collection will be Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, at the Yadkin County Landfill (1149 Landfill Rd., Yadkinville). Call the Yadkin Extension Office, 336-849-7908 for more information or directions. This is a great opportunity to dispose of any unwanted pesticides properly.
