The next in our series of quarterly home horticulture workshops features a presentation on insects from Dr. Terri Billeisen with the Turfgrass Entomology Lab at NC State University. The 2-hour workshop provides homeowners and pesticide applicators with important information about the red imported fire ant (introduction, movement, biology, mounds, scouting, management options) followed by a presentation on honeybees and other pollinators, their importance to production agriculture and home gardens, how insecticides affect them, and strategies to minimize the effects of pesticide applications.
Licensed pesticide applicators will receive 2 hours or recertification credits in Categories G, I, L, O, N, D & X.
