Collapse ▲The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at NC State University has launched a nomination committee to aid in the search for the next associate dean and director of NC State Extension and vice provost for outreach and engagement.
The committee is composed of 26 members of university and Extension leaders and faculty as well as officials from state and industry partners. Members of the committee include:

The committee is tasked with crafting a job description for the position and then identifying and attracting a broad pool of candidates from within and outside the university who have the skills and expertise to lead NC State Extension in service to CALS, the university and the state.
CALS Dean Garey Fox and Megan Jacob, senior associate dean of administration for CALS, will conduct listening sessions with Extension employees and partners throughout the state during September. Feedback from those listening sessions will be incorporated into the position description for the next leader of NC State Extension.
Sarah Kirby, assistant director for NC State Extension and professor in the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences, and David Monks, associate director of the N.C. Agricultural Research Service, are currently serving as interim associate deans and directors of NC State Extension.
Richard Bonanno, previous director of NC State Extension, departed at the end of August to serve as the executive director for the Association of Southern Region Extension Directors.
