Job Description As the Bilingual Outreach Facilitator for the program More In My Basket (A program developed by Dr. Bird at NCSU), I am responsible of: • Establish liaisons with various state-wide community-based organizations, mainly those serving the Hispanic/Latinx community. • Provide education to NC residents about SNAP/FNS through in person and virtual presentations to community groups and agencies’ leaders within the Hispanic/Latinx community. • Arrange and lead participation of the program More in My Basket, at large-scale events, such as resource/community fairs, booth events, exhibitions and virtual events via social media. • Conduct screenings to help individuals determine eligibility for SNAP, and assists them with completing their application (English and Spanish) • Develop, implement and improve strategies to best outreach the Hispanic community. • Prepare reports about the success of events including the number of new partners and members of the community reached. • Translate into Spanish brochures and program material, making sure is adequate translated to the right audience. • Keep the MIMB program website in Spanish updated. • Develop and maintain partnerships/relations with statewide organizations that serve the Hispanic community. • Lead and coordinate in person and virtual events with NC Cooperative extension agents statewide. • Present end of the month reports based on the activities and different ways the program was delivered. • Stablish a relationship with statewide media that serves the Hispanic community. • Create and update new material based on current circumstances that may require adjustments to the program and/or existing material.
