Description:

The Scotland County 4-H Cultural Excursion has been cancelled. NC A&T University has cancelled all campus tours in precautions to the global coronavirus pandemic.

We apologize for any inconvenience. Refunds will be offered to those who registered.

It is never too early to begin visiting colleges and universities to learn about the application process, what majors fit your interests and what type of scholarships are available. Also, it is never too early for parents and guardians to learn about funding opportunities to prepare for the expense of colleges and universities.

On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, join Scotland County 4-H on a cultural excursion to Greensboro, NC.

Youth, grades 6th-10th will load the van to travel to the NC A&T State University campus to:

  • Walking tour of the campus with an Aggie Ambassador
  • Participate in a presentation by the Admissions Counselor to discuss academic programs, campus life, athletics and more

Following the tour, lunch will be provided. The participants will travel to The Forge Makerspace, "a collaborative environment for experimentation and development" to:

  • To use on-site tools to create a personalized gift
  • Tour the facility, and learn about science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) opportunities as well as how to use their creativity to design projects and products.

To register, you must be enrolled in 4-H (free to join) and in grades 6th-10th. Visit the Scotland County Cooperative Extension Center at 231 East Cronly Street, Suite 800, Laurinburg, NC 28352 to enroll and register for this amazing opportunity.

Space is limited. The deadline to register is Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

Cost is $10 (Includes transportation, lunch and Makerspace project)
