*NOTE: Interns selected for counties marked with an asterisk (*) will also be in the NC State University Rural Works! Program. Interns in these counties will complete 8 hours of community service to gain a better understanding of the county’s needs, history, and culture. Interns will also receive professional development coaching and support from the Rural Works! Coordinator during their internship experience. Rural Works! was created by a partnership between the Division of Academic and Student Affairs, the Office of Outreach and Engagement, and NC State Extension. It is an important initiative to link NC State University students to career opportunities in our state’s Tier I and Tier II counties.
