Job Description I work with greenhouse staff and project managers to schedule/facilitate a variety of activities within our greenhouse, including managing space use, breeding work, plantlet transition out of and into TC, and young plant/breeding stock care (potting, watering, transplanting, fertilizing, accessioning, pest management, etc). I also serve as a project manager for the following genera: Hydrangea, Chaenomeles, Camellia, Physocarpus, Lagerstroemia, Azalea, Pyrus, Rudbeckia (with Andra Nus), and Bioenergy grasses (with Darren Touchell). Finally, I also help with ploidy manipulation (both in- and ex-vitro) and ploidy/genome size verification, and perform work in our tissue culture lab, including ovule/embryo rescue, media preparation, and routine subculturing of a variety of genera. I also help graduate students and interns with projects/experiments.
