Piedmont Biofarm is located at the Piedmont Biofuels Industrial Plant in Pittsboro. The farm is in the process of becoming certified organic. |

This is the vermicomposting greenhouse. Amanda Sand is the resident worm wrangler, feeding the worms food and paper waste from local businesses. The resulting vermicompost - also known as "black gold" - will be sold to lucky gardeners. Doug's transplants sit out front, awaiting their final destination in the fields. |
