Farm Tour for Costa Rican Visitors

November 4, 2010

Photos by Debbie Roos, Agricultural Extension Agent.

Two agricultural scientists from the University of Costa Rica - Entomologist Dr. Helga Blanco and Animal Scientist Dr. Augusto Rojas - were visiting faculty at North Carolina State University and wanted to learn more about our sustainable and organic production. I took them on a farm tour to visit Lindale Organic Dairy, Perry-winkle Farm, and Fickle Creek Farm. They were accompanied by NCSU Dairy Specialist Dr. Steve Washburn.

International visitors LOVE seeing our local farms! Just in the past year I have led tours for groups from Australia, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Costa Rica, and Uruguay.
