Listening to Our Kids – Report by the LiveWell Granville Youth Issues Workgroup

Youth Banner with title

The LiveWell Granville Youth Issues Workgroup, a sub-group of Granville
County's Healthy Carolinians Partnership, has completed its focus groups
of students, dropouts and parents in Granville County to determine some
reasons why local youth do not complete high school. The report is now
ready for all in the county to read. It is the hope of the Workgroup
that the report will cause all areas of the county – schools, law
enforcement, parents, youth, churches, civic groups – to come together
to address the needs of youth in a way that will encourage their high
school graduation and skill development for a promising and fulfilling
working career. Two forums are being planned for the fall to begin such
a conversation. If you are interested in working on preventing youth
from dropping out of school, you are invited to become a part of the
LiveWell Granville Youth Issues Workgroup. Please contact
chairperson Joan Reid, Extension Agent Family & Consumer Sciences at 919.603.1350.
