. This slender, secretive snake has a black or slate-gray body. The neck ring and matching belly vary from creamy yellow all the way to reddish orange. It is found under flat rocks, logs or loose bark of dead trees, and feeds on worms, slugs, salamanders, lizards and newborn snakes. Will release a foul-smelling musk if captured.
