Dr. Rich Bonanno, director of NC State Extension, shares an end-of-year message with employees as we put a bow on 2021.
If 2020 was an unprecedented year of challenges and change, then 2021 was a year of affirmation and determination. Affirmation of Extension’s relevance and value to our state, made possible by the determination of individuals who are invested in their communities and their neighbors.
Thank you for all that you do, and happy new year on behalf of the Extension leadership team at NC State! We look forward to working alongside you to continue serving and growing our state in 2022.

Also, the North Carolina Broadband Survey aims to identify locations in the state without adequate internet access and speeds. This survey will help guide investment of funds through state grants, inform research and policy recommendations and support strategic targeting of additional funding streams moving forward.
This is an important initiative and Extension can play a valuable role. Please keep the survey in mind, particularly in rural areas, and help promote it as appropriate.
