Description:

Fall is the best time of year toplant garden plants and trees in mild winter climates, including native plantsand drought-tolerant plants. When compared to spring planting, fall plantingshows a significant increase in growth after the first year for most trees andshrubs. If you are interested in adding new plants to your house or garden,check out the Currituck County Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers' annualFall Plant Sale.

The plant sale will be held inconjunction with the Currituck Farm Festival, at the N.C. CooperativeExtension, Currituck County Center on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 1:00 -4:00 pm. The sale will be held outdoors between the YMCA and Currituck CountyExtension buildings. Patrons will have opportunities to purchase mums,perennials, and bulbs while benefiting the ongoing stewardship and enhancementof the gardens, educational programs, and outreach activities. Gardeningexperts will also be on hand to provide free planting advice and to answercustomer questions.

 Currently, masks are not required for indoorin-person classes, but are encouraged for unvaccinated individuals.
