Description:

The Watauga office of N.C. Cooperative Extension has scheduled a Professional Landscape Day for Thursday, October 7th, 2021 from 12:00pm to 4:20pm.

This event will be held outdoors at the Boone United Methodist Church covered pavilion, located at 471 New Market Blvd, Boone, NC  28607, and will enable North Carolina landscape contractors to obtain the following credits:

2 Landscape Contractor Business Credits from 12:00pm - 2:00pm

2 Landscape Contractor Technical Credits and/or 2 Pesticide Credits from 2:10pm-4:20pm

Registration is required.  To register, use one of the three following options:

  1. Register online through Eventbrite using these two links (please make sure to use both registration links if you need both business and technical/pesticide credits):    2 Business Credits

2 Technical Credits/2 Pesticide Credits

2.  Email paige_patterson@ncsu.edu and put "Landscape Day" in the subject line

3.  Call the extension office at (828) 264-3061

Since this will be an outdoor event, we have planned it for the afternoon when it will most likely be warmer, but please come dressed accordingly.  We do plan to host another 3-4 hour field day oriented to demonstrations and hands-on classes next year.  It will be sometime before the end of June 2022 when pesticide credits are due and will offer the remaining landscape contractor credits needed before they are due in August 2022.  Specific date and details to be announced.

Here are some other options for obtaining 3 more technical credits:

Nursery Field Day:  September 10, 2021 in Caldwell County, offering 3 technical credits and 4 pesticide credits.  Nursery Field Day details and registration

Online and in person options will be advertised on the NC Landscape Contractors Licensing Board website.  Click here to find classes.

Online and in person pesticide applicator credits can be find on the NC Department of Agriculture's website here.

Email paige_patterson@ncsu.edu or call our office at (828) 264-3061 with any questions.
