Currituck County 4-H is forming a new STEM club for youth ages 10 and up. Our focus will be the wonderful world of electricity and energy and the emerging technology that is used to power our world. Hands-on activities, field trips, and experiments will allow club members to learn about energy sources, uses, and conservation. As a club member, your child will have the opportunity to participate in tons of fun activities including building circuits, windmills, solar-powered motors, visiting with industry experts, and power generation sites. Get your child excited about science and technology and explore careers that are related to these fields with all this hands-on fun!
A kick off meeting will be held on Friday, May 21st from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm. This meeting will be held at the Currituck County Center of N.C. Cooperative Extension office located at 120 Community Way, Barco. To register for this club meeting please register at https://introtoelectric.eventbrite.com
Once you have completed the Eventbrite registration please visit this link https://v2.4honline.com and complete the 4-H online enrollment. This will register your child in 4-H for the year and is required for participation in all 4-H events and activities. If you sign your child up for other programs you will not have to do this but once for this program year.
Currently, in-person classes require masks to be worn for the duration of the class without exception. If you arrive without a mask one will be provided for you. We ask all participants to maintain six feet of distance while on the premises. We are following the current NC mandates.
