Perennials

Canna

The disease you have described is mosaic virus. It is spread through aphids. Mosaic virus is almost impossible to prevent because the aphids need only a few minutes to transmit the disease. Once the canna has mosaic, removal is the best control to prevent spread to other plants. Fortunately, mosaic virus is not very common in canna. The variety "President" is immune.
