Dance to Energize Yourself What does the Electric Slide, Macarena, Twist, Conga Line, Cha Cha Slide, YMCA, and Hokey Poky all have in common? That's right they are all very popular dance routines. When you hear the beat of these songs you just want to get up off your seat and do a dance that everyone can do at any occasion.
Wayne county employees seized the opportunity to move their bodies at the annual employee picnic last Friday. Although we enjoyed the food and fellowship many of us chose to get up strut our stuff, and dance the day away. It was so much fun! Several employees danced for about an hour. Yes, I did say an hour. It was so much FUN! Surprisingly, the Sheriff and a deputy showed no inhibitions to dance.
You can enjoy the fun too. Come on get up, pull yourself away from the TV, put on your favorite music and simply move to the beat. It does not matter that you don't have rhythm just MOVE! Remember, No Excuses! Let the music help you to unwind and feel more energized. Dancing may help tone your muscles, improve your flexibility, make your heart stronger, and make your lungs work better.
In order for exercise to provide lasting physiological benefits, it needs to be performed regularly. Understandably, it is sometimes difficult to take that first step towards living a life complimented by a consistent fitness program, but it is possible. You are worth it and your heart is worth it too! Exercise can provide increases in muscular strength and endurance, enhance flexibility, and reduce risk of heart disease and other health disorders, and increase stamina while decreasing weight and stiffness.
You can easily identify those individuals who include exercise into their daily lives. These people look better; they're more vibrant, energized, and full of life. You can be certain that they are enjoying a higher quality of life! The best type is the one or two that you will do! Pick an activity that you enjoy doing and one that will fit into your daily routine. Start with moderate levels of activity and work your way up! Remember it's important to use a sensible approach by starting out slowly.
