Hardiness Zones: 5 to 9 Habit: Evergreen to semi evergreen vine; evergreen to 15 to 20 F. Texture fine to medium. Exposure/Culture: Sun to part shade, Soil type tolerant, prefers well drained. Pests - mildew, aphids, flea beetle. Prune - after bloom. Climbing Method /Spread: Twining, 10 to 20', rapid growth rate. Foliage/Flower/Fruit: oppsite, simple, oblong to oval leaves; 1½ to 2½" long, Pinkish-purple and yellow fragrant flowers spring to fall. Cultivars: Origin unknow; thought to be L. sempervirens x L. americana Comments: Drought tolerant, attracts hummingbirds, Dirr considers it the most handsome of the climbing honeysuckles. |
