Hardiness Zones: 8 to 10 Habit: Evergreen vine with medium texture. Exposure/Culture: Part sun to shade, likes moist, well drained soils but adapts to a wide range of conditions. Prune - after bloom. Pests - rabbits. Climbing Method /Spread: Twining, 10 to 12'; growth rate is rapid. Foliage/Flower/Fruit: Lustrous dark green leaves, fragrant, 1" diameter, white, five petaled flowers, May to June and sporadically through the summer. Cultivars: 'Madison' - more cold hardy, underside of leaves densely pubescent. 'Variegate' - leaves have green centers surrounded by creamy variegation. Comments: Not a true jasmine; good foliage; subject to winter kill (to the ground) when grown in sun; withstands drought, heat, wind; can be grown as a ground cover. |
