Hardiness Zones: 4 to 8

Habit: Deciduous vine with coarse texture.

Exposure/Culture: Sun to part shade, soil adaptable. Pests - scale, aphids on new shoots, Japanese beetles.

Climbing Method /Spread: Tendrils with adhesive discs, up to 30' or more, rapid growth rate.

Foliage/Flower/Fruit: Alternate, simple, broad 3 lobed, 4 to 8" wide. Young foliage partly 3 foliate. Green turning red, reddish purple in the fall. Blue black berries.

Cultivars: 'Vietchii' - show. 'Fenway Park' - yellow foliage, turning bright red in fall.

Comments: Excellent on masonry walls; prefers evenly moist soil but withstands adverse conditions; burgundy fall color; attracts bees and Japanese beetles; adult and juvenile forms. Can it take the heat in Wayne County?
