Leaves lanceolate, about 1" long, ¾" solitary pink, white, purple or red flower spring to frost. Upright, shrubby growth, 18 to 24" tall. Likes sun to part shade, moist well drained soil. Pests-none serious. Prune or pinch at anytime to shape. Good as a bedding plant, for edging, containers or baskets. A tender tropical shrub that is native to a region from Mexico south to Guatemala. Foliage and stems almost fern like. 'Conpacta' - rose purple blooms, compact growth 1' high by 2' wide. 'Monga' - snow white flowers, ground hugging 8" height by 18" spread. 'Monshi'- another ground hugger, with lilac flowers. |
