This tropical annual from Guatemala and Panama likes full sun (tolerates a bit of shade) and moist well drained soil. Pests-damping off during seedling stage, no serious insect pests. Leaves are oblong to elliptic, about 4" long. Stiff 1½" clover like everlasting flowers from spring to frost in purple, white, pink red, orange, bicolors and mixes. Very heat and drought tolerant. As with most annuals, deadhead to encourage blooming. Use as a fresh cut or dried flower, in beds, edging, or containers. 'Buddy' is 6 inches tall with deep purple flowers. 'Full Series Mixed' grows 18 to 24 inches tall and produces red, peach, pink, bright white, and orange flowers. 'Strawberry Fields' prodces 2-inch brilliant red flowers.
