The livestock program in Wayne County includes educational workshops and publications for horse owners. Extension is assisted by REINS volunteers to bring researched based educational programs to the county. Horse owners may call upon REINS volunteers and Wayne County Extension for questions concerning horse management, including nutrition, pasture management, healthcare, facility design and maintenance, and youth educational programs.Youth interested in becoming involved in the 4-H Horse Program should contact our office for information on local clubs as well as local and statewide events offered. A Equine newsletter is published for horse owners in the county, including educational articles and upcoming local and statewide horse events.
