People volunteer for 4-H for many reasons. One obvious benefit for parents is spending time with and being a positive role model for their children. Other benefits volunteers say they enjoy are:

Volunteers helping volunteers is what makes the 4-H volunteer network across North Carolina strong.
The process for becoming a volunteer is quite simple. It goes like this:
- Fill out the application form. Application Form can be obtain at the County Extension
- Read and sign the North Carolina 4-H Volunteer Standards of Behavior Guidelines.
