Best Friends Program

Here are a few questions and answers that we've compiled for you. Please feel free to contact us for more information or with additional questions.

Q: Do I need any special qualifications to be a volunteer? A: No, we'll train you if you're eligible for the program.
Q: Is anyone eligible to be a "Best Friends" volunteer? A: No, only carefully screened and selected individuals may be selected for the program. We do this screening in the best interest of the children.
Q: How much time do I need to spend with my junior friend? A: We ask that you spend a minimum of 10 hours per month.
Q: How long is the program? A: You will commit for one year; thereafter, it is up to you to renew, if you wish.
Q: What kinds of things should I do with my junior friend? A: Spend quality time with him/her. Take him/her to a museum, a movie, a picnic, fishing, hiking or festival.
