Empowerment Team

Program Description

Empowerment Team is a leadership development and empowerment program designed to educate, train and motivate 15-20 middle and high school students in leadership, peer education, public speaking and advocacy skills. The students on the Empowerment Team address underage drinking and tobacco use prevention initiatives. These youth are the premier peer training resource for school based STAND Clubs and other community based youth groups. If you are interested in joining, please view the link below.

What is our purpose?
To coordinate existing youth groups to involve youth in prevention activities that enhance leadership and life skills.

What is our goal?
To educate, train, and empower middle and high school students in prevention and life skill strategies that build upon the positive assets of youth, their families, and communities.

Why is our work necessary?
Project ASSIST identified a need for a youth led coalition to enhance its efforts to reduce and delay the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
