Methodology
This survey was conducted on February 23, 2012, during the Winter Vegetable Conference and Trade Show in Asheville, N.C. TurningPoint software was used to create an interactive PowerPoint presentation that allowed audience members to use remote keypads to anonymously answer questions that appeared on the screen.
An average of 67 participants responded to each question, with an average of 79 percent identifying themselves as “growers” (defined as anyone producing vegetables for consumption) and 21 percent as “non‐growers” (a group that included industry representatives, research scientists and exhibitors).
