The Natural Resources Leadership Institute (NRLI) is dedicated to educating North Carolinians on issues affecting the sustainable development of North Carolina’s natural resources and the quality of our environment. Founded in 1994, NRLI began with the development of its core leadership development program. Nearly 450 leaders have participated in the institute. Since 1996, the work of the institute expanded with the development of its Environmental Decision-Program and its first facilitation, the Bluff Mountain Timber Sale. Presently NRLI continues to work with communities, and local, state, and federal agencies and organizations in order to find collaborative solutions to our environmental issues.
