Food Science Extension

The NC State University Department of Food Science’s extension group is dedicated to improving the lives of NC citizens through research, extension education and outreach regarding food, food safety and food processing. With seven pilot plants and partnerships with NC State’s Center of Marine Sciences and Technology and the new NC State Fruit and Vegetable Science Institute, Food Science Extension Specialists provide assistance in the areas of Dairy (Ice Cream), Entrepreneurs, Food Safety Certification, HACCP, and Seafood.
