4-H

4-H Club Membership . . .
Why should you get into it?

4-H Club membership consists of males and females, 9 - 19 years of age, regardless of race, sex, disability, color, national origin or religion, who agree to work on a project and follow 4- H ideals and standards. Youth 5-8 years of age can participate in 4-H through a Cloverbud Program. The size of the club varies from five to twenty members. Each member of the club enrolls in one or more 4-H projects and is to keep a record on what he or she does in conducting the project.

Most project work is carried on an individual basis with assistance from parents, older club members, project leaders and resource people. In addition they participate in 4-H activities such as Favorite Food Shows, Public Speaking, Talent Shows, tours, demonstrations, camps, and community service projects. Many families turn 4-H events into family outings, that provide excellent opportunities for parents to spend "quality" time with their children.

The monthly 4-H Club meeting is the heart of 4-H work and is intended to give boys and girls many learning experiences they are not likely to get elsewhere. Most community clubs meet once a month in homes, community buildings, or churches. Members receive valuable experiences through:

Members are eligible to compete for county, district, state, and national awards such as savings bonds, ribbons, certificates, trophies and scholarships.
