

LMS Event Submission Help Aid
- Go to: http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/pods/ and under the section “LMS”, click on the link “Learning Management System”, or
Go to: http://intra.ces.ncsu.edu/DeskRef/AdmApps.html and under the section Extension Learning Management System, click on the link “Interim Extension Learning Management System”.
- On the first login page, click on the “Continue Login” button.
- On the next login page, enter your unity ID and password and click Login.
- After successful login, you should see a page that looks like following:

- Click on “Submit an Event” link.
This will take you to the page where you can submit event proposal(s).
From here on, the proposal submission page has been broken down into several screenshots to explain the different sections of the page.

- Please notice your username at the top-right corner of the screen. Anytime you want to log out of the system, click on the Logout link.
- If you need explanation on any of the elements on this proposal submission page, click on the “Need more help?” link.
Please remember that all underlined items are required
- Principal Contact identifies the individual responsible for all communication, related to the event entered. This is determined by the login information of the person entering and submitting the session for the event.
- Event Title is a descriptor used to denote all sessions that are parts of an event. Events are broad classifications of trainings such as "State Extension Conference" or "New worker Orientation -Spring". Enter this information in the textbox.
- Session Title isthetitle of the session offered. Enter this information in the corresponding textbox.
- Type is the type of training offered: Submitters should use this input to denote what type of training is being offered. Select a type from the drop-down list.
- Sub-Type: In cases where individuals wish to manage attendance at non-training events such as meals or socials, you will need to select a sub-type from the drop-down menu.
- Description: In the textbox, enter a brief description of the session (100 words).

- Targeting: From the Major Program Focus Area drop-down list, select an item and:
- Click on the
icon to add additional focus areas.
- Click on the
icon to remove an already added focus area.
Follow the same instructions to add or remove Core Competencies to or from the list.
- Description of Need: In the textbox, describe why this training is needed and support your statement by describing the process used for identifying the learner’s needs.
- Prerequisites: In cases where the participant is expected to have completed either a previous workshop, or some other work prior to this workshop, please list those expectations in this box.
- Teaching Methods: Identify all teaching methods you will use in this session. Click on the
icon to add an additional method and click on the
icon to remove an already added method.
- Delivery Mode: Identify all delivery modes used in conjunction with the session. Click on the
icon to add an additional delivery mode and click on the
icon to remove an already added delivery mode.
- Evaluation Method & Reporting Plan: Each session, after it is over, will be evaluated immediately using an online evaluation process, which will establish how participants initially view the workshop. In the textbox, please describe the evaluation and reporting methods planned for establishing the effectiveness of this workshop that go beyond this initial evaluation. Examples might include methods for identifying behavior changes, or knowledge demonstrated in the field.

- Target Audience: Select items from this list to identify all audiences this session is intended for. Click on the
icon to add an additional audience and click on the
icon to remove an already added audience.
- Train the Trainer Description: In the textbox provided, please describe any train-the-trainer resources the participants will receive by participating in the session. Please describe the ultimate intended audience for the resource.
- Behavioral Objectives for Participants: Please list 3-4 Behavioral Objectives the session is designed to help participants attain. (What knowledge, skills, behaviors or aspirations will change as a result of the participant attending the workshop?)

Although this screen shows the first four of the ten questions in this section, please enter information on the rests of the questions using the same procedures.
- Self-Test: In the space provided, please enter 10 multiple-choice questions that would be an indication of knowledge gained from attending the session. Participants will be able to self-test themselves before registering to determine if they will benefit from attending.

Budget:
There are three categories of budget information, which can be added into the event database:
- Funding Requested from Extension Administration ($): All monies requested from Extension Administration for supporting the session in addition to normally allocated funds.
- Department Inputs ($): All in-kind contributions that the department(s) plans to contribute to the delivery of this session.
- Funding Requested from External Sources (Grants) ($): Any monies used that are provided through grants and contracts with a funding entity external to Extension.

Budget Justification: In the textbox, enter a full and clear justification of the costs. New equipment purchases should be specifically justified.

Sessions: For each location or time the workshop is offered, you will need to enter a session.
Sessions can be offered more than once by simply clicking on the
icon or deleted by clicking on the
icon.
For each session, you will enter the following information:
- Primary Instructor: To choose a Primary Instructor, click on the “Choose..” button and in the pop-up dialog box, enter the last name or a portion of the name of the person. From the generated list, click on the person’s name. To clear your selection, click on the “Clear” button.
- Secondary Instructor: To enter information in this optional field, see instructions on Primary Instructor above.
- Other Instructors: See instructions on Primary Instructor above. Non-extension instructors should not be entered here.
- Location: Enter location of the session in the textbox.
- Begin Date/Time: The beginning date and time for the session. Click on the
icon to select the date.
- End Date/Time: The end date and time for the session. Click on the
icon to select the date.
- Contact Hours: Enter the number of hours the session will be held for.
- Attendees Limit: If you prefer to limit the size of the session, enter the maximum numerical number of participants allowed.
When you are done entering all information on the event, please click on the Submit button.
