25th Annual On-site Conference 2009
Water, Wastewater and Reuse

Introduction

This year marks the 25th Annual North Carolina Onsite Wastewater Treatment Conference. Some may have noticed that the name of the conference has slightly changed this year to the NC Onsite Water Conference. This change recognizes the importance of linking wastewater, drinking water, reuse, and storm water in a holistic fashion. Keynote speakers will address wastewater treatment in soils, epidemiological relationships between wells and septic systems, and relationships between water-wastewater-reuse. These nationally and internationally renowned speakers will present some of the most current research available to us. The theme of integrated use will carry forward with presentations on reuse, drip technologies, cluster systems, hydrology, and onsite septic/storm water issues.

The conference has expanded the number of concurrent sessions, offering four simultaneous sessions through the end of the second day. Session 5 is a field session in the middle of the conference for those who would like to see some of the technologies in action. Field tours on the third day have also been expanded – 12 options around the state in the morning and afternoon, offering opportunities for six hours of instruction on May 1st.

The 25th Annual Conference will look back a little, but our primary focus is on the future - the tools and knowledge needed for the next 25 years.
