This tour will start at the Mountain Horticultural Research Center in Fletcher, near the Asheville Airport. There will be discussions of the wastewater systems serving the Pisgah Environmental Education Center in Transylvania County. This system has a sandfilter, constructed wetland, and a surface drip system. Operation and maintenance of the various systems will be discussed in detail. After lunch we will drive to the Environmental Education Center and tour the various system components. The Education Center will be visited also.
