The overall objective of the North Carolina Certified Beef
Program is to improve measurably the quality and marketability of
calves produced in North Carolina and to subsequently improve the
profitability of beef production.

b. Specific objectives
1. To develop a team of trainers to have thorough knowledge of the criteria for participation in North Carolina Certified Beef Production and of the economic importance of total quality managementin beef production.
2. To recruit and train beef producers on North Carolina Certified Beef management practices.
3. To increase the educational resources available to beef producers in North Carolina by producing reference notebooks, video tapes, displays and promotional brochures describing the North Carolina Certified Beef Production Program, This material will be utilized to expose the concep[t to both traditional and non-traditional extension audiences, train county agents and veterinarians as well as cow-calf producers and stocker operators across North Carolina.
