Person County & Orange County
4-H Golf Tournament April 13, 2005 |
||
![]() The Person County 4-H Program uses this event as a fundraiser to raise money for our 4-H scholarship fund. Person County and Orange County 4-H organizations teamed up on April 13th to bring you the Fifth Annual 4-H Golf Tournament. As you can tell by looking at the pictures above, the weather was not ideal that day, but we were able to raise over $3300 for each county 4-H program from our golf tournament last year. The money was put into our 4-H Development Fund for Person County. Once we have enough money in our account, we will be able to offer a college scholarship to one lucky 4-H’er who has shown dedication and commitment to the Person County 4-H Program. It was once again sponsored by the Piedmont Electric Company of Hillsborough. For the past four years, they have been a tremendous asset to both 4-H programs, and this golf tournament would not be possible if it wasn’t for their hard work and dedication. Because they do such a wonderful job organizing this tournament, two years ago they were recognized with the President’s Cup at the State Clover Classic 4-H Golf Tournament. Our golf tournament took place at The Challenge Golf Course in Graham, NC. We have played this course every year, and this has proven to be great fun, great games, and a great course for us to play. Every participant receives lunch and a goody bag, which was full of a lot of neat 4-H stuff. We’ve always had several local businesses and individuals donate items that we used as door prizes. We try to make sure that there are enough door prizes and awards for almost all of the players to able to take one home with them. We would like to thank the businesses who donated a door prize. | ||
