State 4-H Congress July 18-22, 2005

State 4-H Congress took place at the NCSU Campus and State Fairgrounds. Congress was held during the week of July 18-22 at the NC State campus in Raleigh, NC. We had one local youth, Milton Rogers attend. Delegates from all over NC came and stayed in the dorms at NC State and had the chance to attend several workshops, recognize award winners, compete in presentations at the State level, take part in a community service activity, and have a whole lot of fun.     Elisa Abele (left) won a gold medal for her presentation at the state level on Flower Arrangement in the 11-13 year old category of Artistic Arrangement. Thomas Rudd (right) was inducted into the NC 4-H Honor Club and winning a $1000 4-H College Scholarship. Congratulations to them both!! We would like to recognize the Person County 4-H program on receiving 1st place in the NC 4-H Friends and Alumni Drive, winning a digital camera for our program.
