Person County Horsemen's Association/REINS
Equine in Person CountyThe purpose of the Person County Horsemen's Association is to represent and promote generally all aspects of the horse industry and horse recreation throughout the Piedmont area of North Carolina. They do their best to promote equine teaching research and extension, to inform and educate the general public, and to aid in the protection and care of horses. The Person County Horseman's Association is a group of local horse enthusiasts who strive to promote the horse industry. Some activities include educational meetings, fundraisers and recreational outings. If you would like additional information or are interested in joining, please call the Person County Cooperative Extension Service at (336)599-1195.

REINS (Regional Equine Information Network System) was implemented in 1995 as a volunteer program of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service. These certified paraprofessionals are available to answer questions regarding horse management and science. They also assist county extension agents in the delivery of educational programs on a local, county, and regional basis. Certified REINS volunteers have been trained to help you and your horse in such areas as: health care, nutrition, environmental management, emergency management, breeding and foaling, facility design and management, and pasture management.
