Onslow County

Constructed Wetlands
Project (22)

Water hyacinth was also added. Roughly 2 pickup truck loads were put into the wetlands in late April. By July, there were more than 2 ACRES of water hyacinth. For this situation, its rapid spread was desired; however, it can get out of hand in other locations. If someone offers you a plant, accept with caution. By the end of October, there were 4 ACRES of hyacinths!
