A local builder in Surf City installed a French drain at the base of this driveway. The gravel-filled runoff storage chamber is 2' Wide x 2' Deep x width of the drive. Runoff water goes down the driveway, enters the chamber through the slotted top, and gradually enters the sandy soil beneath. This helps reduce the amount of runoff (and contaminants) leaving the property.
