David Lindbo (Soil Scientist, NCSU/NCCES) and John Minneci (EHS, New Hanover Co.) check that the tanks are located properly. This involves checking to see if the tanks are level, and making sure that they are properly oriented. For a homesite, the orientation needs to have the septic tank's inlet side towards the wastewater source (the home) and the outlet side toward the drainfield or pump tank.
