Onslow County Permeable Lagoon Cover Project George Gillette Farm

A permeable cover was installed on a lagoon at the George Gillette swine farm during July 2000. The cover itself resembles black indoor-outdoor carpet. The material is supported by rectangular sheets of cross-link, closed cell polyethylene foam, the outlines of which can be seen in the above photo.

The cover looks green because of algae growing on its surface.
