Matua Grass Project
(Time for a Cutting)

The Matua had reached nearly waist deep and grown seed heads by mid-March. In all, three harvests were obtained during 1999.

The producer decided to make haylage rather than dry bales for the first cutting from yr-2000 (March 2000). He fed the material to his cows and reported that they "went to it like cotton candy."
