Dr. Philip H. Mitchell
|
Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist:
B.S. North Carolina State University Background: Philip H. Mitchell obtained a B.S. (1977) in Wood Science and Technology from North Carolina State University and both his M.S. (1979) and Ph.D. (1981) in Forestry and Forest Products from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Upon completion of his Ph.D. he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Mississippi Forest Products Laboratory. He joined Weyerhaeuser Company in 1987 where he worked as a Research Scientist and Environmental Engineer. In March, 1996 he returned to North Carolina State University as a Wood Products Extension Specialist and Assistant Professor. He is a member of the Forest Products Society and the North Carolina Association of Cooperative Extension Specialists.
