Background:

Joseph Denig obtained a B.S. (1977) in Forestry at Michigan Technological University and both his M.S. (1980) and Ph.D. (1982) in Forest Products at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. After graduation he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Forestry at Southern Illinois University. In December 1983 he joined the Department of Wood and Paper Science at North Carolina State University as a Wood Products Extension Specialist and Assistant Professor. He is a member of the Forest Products Society and Treasurer of the Southeastern Dry Kiln Club.

A Current Project:

Organizing a Hardwood Dry Kiln Operator's Short Course to be held at Haywood Community College in September 2000.
