PLT Outposts

"Together we can reach more people with the environmental message than we can by ourselves"

Congratulations to Jordan Lake Educational State Forest, the 2006 PLT Outpost of the Year!

The PLT Outpost program grew out of a grant to enhance environmental education within North Carolina. Through the grant, free Tree Trunks were placed in Environmental Education (EE) Centers as an enticement to increase involvement with PLT and increase outreach to the education community.

PLT Outposts greatly expand the ability of Project Learning Tree to serve the people of North Carolina by partnering with existing EE Centers to deliver workshops to interested educators and youth leaders across the far reaches of North Carolina.
These EE Centers are currently PLT Outpost Partners:
  • Cradle of Forestry
