General Information
Forestry & Environmental
Outreach Program (FEOP) and Extension Forestry
are pleased to present
the Forestry Issues Forums, a teleconference series designed
to inform landowners and natural resources professionals.
The video teleconference approach allows attendees to actively
participate with speakers and other viewers throughout the
state via the NC-REN network. Each teleconference program
will be accredited with SAF Continuing Forestry Education
contact hours. Advanced registration and $35 fee are required.
Registration fee at the door will be $50. See link at the
bottom of this page for registration form.
Format & Schedule
This Forestry Issues Forum will be presented in teleconference
format via the NC Research and Education Network (NCREN)
at two-way, interactive medium. This format allows attendees
the opportunity to interact with the experts and as well
as other participants from across the state.
The
3-hour forum will begin promptly at 9:00 AM and end
promptly at 12:00 PM. Please allow extra time for obtaining
necessary parking permit, locating visitor parking
and the video teleconference site on the campus of
your choice. All video teleconference sites are nonsmoking!
We will provide reasonable accommodation for persons
with special needs when requested in advance of the
workshop.

- September 10, 2008: Biofuels Update
Dennis Hazel and Mark Megalos will cover the latest options for landowners and foresters interested in adding value to harvests through the biofuels markets being established in North Carolina. - November 12, 2008: Prescribed Fire Council
The North Carolina Prescribed Fire Council's speakers will present information on the latest controlled burning smoke management guidelines and liability issues.

Participants at this location will register through FEOP to attend and will complete the SVCC registration slip at the teleconference site. Pre-registration
is required and seating is limited. Make checks payable to “NCSU” or
pay by MasterCard or Visa. Early registration (up to one week before the teleconference) is $35 per person. The fee is $50 when registering within a week of the teleconference date or when paying at the door. Upon receipt of
payment, participants will receive confirmation and teleconference
location map sent by mail.

Cancellations When notification of your need to cancel is received before the end of the early registration period FEOP will refund your registration fee less a $10 service charge. Refunds will not be given for cancellations after the early registration period has ended (substitute
attendee recommended). We reserve the right to cancel any forum.
