Three Southern Bioenergy Working Groups met in conjunction with Biomass South: Germplasm Development, Bioenergy Pilot Plants, and Biomass Transportation and Logistics.
The Germplasm Development group approved the statement of purpose for the group and discussed changes to an upcoming community resources survey and white paper. The group will also seek other national and regional events to hold their next meetings.
The first meeting of the pilot plant group discussed findings of the initial pilot plant survey. The group will move forward on an informational exchange via a website/wiki and plan for upcoming site visits.
The group discussed the what are the most important issues for the group to address and what research could the group commission to help advance the industry in the South. Group members will begin working on a comprehensive research proposal.
